Clear questions to ask any provider: ZATCA Phase 2, selling offline, where your data is, how pricing works and what it includes, hardware, support and trial. With a comparison table, HADAB's answers as an example, and when another type suits you better.
Most shop and restaurant owners in Saudi Arabia start with one question: "What is the best POS system?" The trouble is that the answer changes from business to business. A system that suits a chain of twenty restaurants is not the one that suits a grocery with one till, and what suits a company with an accountant is not what suits a small salon. Every provider presents its features its own way, and pricing differs too: monthly or yearly, per branch, per device or per user, with or without VAT.
So instead of telling you "this is the best", this page gives you a way to compare: the questions to ask any provider, a table you fill in yourself, and an example with HADAB's answers so you can see how to read a reply.
Before the names, understand the type, because the type decides a lot: where your data is, how you pay, and what happens when the internet drops.
This table is the heart of the page. Print it or take a photo, ask every provider the same questions, and write down the answers. The last column has HADAB's answer as an example.
| Question | Why it matters | HADAB's answer |
|---|---|---|
| ZATCA Phase 2 | Linking to Fatoora is required by your wave. Ask: who does the linking? Are there extra fees? | Compliant with Phase 2: linked from inside the program with an OTP, every invoice signed and sent automatically with a QR code, included in the plan. |
| Selling offline | A network drop at peak time stops some systems or limits transactions. Ask: what exactly works offline? | Selling, printing and reports work offline, and invoices are sent to ZATCA when the connection is back. |
| Where your data is kept | With the provider in the cloud, or with you on the shop computer. Each has advantages (see the comparison below). | On the shop computer itself, with a daily backup to the owner's email. |
| How pricing works | Monthly or yearly? Per branch, per device or per user? VAT included or not? | Yearly per device, VAT included: 1,500 or 3,000 for the first year, then 575 a year per device. |
| What the plan includes | Some features (accounting, loyalty, payments, branches) are paid add-ons with some providers. | The POS plan includes stock, purchasing, customers and credit sales, branches and reports. Full accounting and payroll are in the Accounting plan. |
| Hardware needed | Can you use your current computer, or must you buy a specific device? | A Windows computer or POS terminal and a thermal receipt printer. A barcode reader and cash drawer are optional. |
| Phones and tablets | If you want to sell from an iPad or an Android phone, make sure the software supports it. | Selling is on Windows only. There is no selling app for Mac, iPhone or Android at the moment. |
| Support | Ask: in which language? WhatsApp or tickets? Do they help with installing and linking? | A Saudi team on WhatsApp helps you install and link to Fatoora remotely. |
| Trial | You should try it on your real work before you pay. | 14 full days with no card; it becomes your subscription with no reinstall and no data lost. |
| Depth of accounting | A cashier with reports, or full accounting with journal entries, financial statements and payroll? | Both, depending on the plan. |
| Features for your business | A restaurant needs a kitchen and recipes, a supermarket scale barcodes, a salon bookings and commissions. | Three editions: Restaurants & cafés, Shops & supermarkets and Salons. |
These are some well-known programs shop owners ask about, with their type and how they price, as their official website states it. We do not rate them or say they are better or worse; the aim is to know the type so you compare correctly.
| Program | How it describes itself | Published pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Foodics | A cloud POS and restaurant management system aimed at restaurants and cafés; its website explains the steps to activate ZATCA e-invoicing Phase 2. | Packages published with a monthly price by restaurant type; it says the cost depends on the software and equipment. |
| Rewaa | A platform for retail, restaurants, cafés and services; all its packages include Phase 2 linking, with a 14-day free trial. | Monthly prices published, paid yearly or every two years, excluding VAT; each package includes a number of branches and registers, with a price per extra branch, register and user. |
| Daftra | Cloud software for accounting and business management, with a POS and a desktop POS app that supports working offline; it states Phase 2 compliance. | Prices published in US dollars per month (yearly or monthly), with a price per user, branch and extra POS device. |
| Qoyod | Cloud accounting and e-invoicing software with a POS system, and "Qoyod Flavors", a cloud cashier for restaurants; it states the data is on cloud servers inside the Kingdom. | A 14-day free trial on the basic package; prices are on the plans page of their website. |
| Odoo | An ERP system with many apps, including a point of sale for shops and restaurants, cloud or self-hosted depending on the plan. | Prices published in euros per user per month, with a free plan for one app. |
Notice that every program prices its own way: per branch, per register, per user or by device. To compare fairly, work out the full cost for two years on your real number of devices and branches, including VAT and the add-ons you really need.
On HADAB's POS plan: 1,500 + 575 + 575 = 2,650 SAR for the first year, then 1,725 SAR a year (575 per device). On the Accounting plan: 4,150 SAR for the first year, then 1,725 a year. This figure includes VAT, e-invoicing and support. Do the same sum with any other provider for the same number of devices and compare the final figure, not the first month's price.
We want you to choose well, even if you do not choose us:
If you are a shop, restaurant or salon with one or a few devices, and you want selling to keep going when the internet drops, your data with you, and a clear yearly price with VAT included, try HADAB. You can also read cloud POS vs software on your own computer.

There is no best system for everyone. The right one depends on your business, your number of devices and branches, whether you want cloud or on your computer, and whether you need full accounting. Ask every provider the same questions and try before you pay.
Work out the full cost for two years on your real number of devices, branches and users, with VAT and the add-ons you need, because some programs price per branch, register or user.
